Sabal Palm Fruit Oil Extract

Sabal (serenoa repens) - arecaceae family. Extract from the palm tree fruits containing lauric, myristic, oleic fatty acids and phytosterols such as sitosterol, campesterol, stigmasterol, has the medicinal properties. Inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase enzyme and other enzymes involved in metabolism of steroid hormones, anti-androgenic effect and anti-proliferative, as well as antispasmodic and adrenoceptor- antagonistic effect is described for lipophilic extracts of Serenoa repens fruits. Phytosterols inhibit cholesterol absorption in intestines, enhancing to reduce cholesterol level in the blood. It is used for diseases of the bladder and prostate glands (prostatitis, adenoma of I-II stage), urinary retention, as well as an atherosclerosis prevention agent.
