Zeaxanthin
Item No.
Z 757
Description
As we age, the retina changes and the blood supply in the eye also steadily decreases - our visual performance and visual acuity decline. Interspersion of the nerve tissue inside the eye in the choroid slowly recedes. The retina's fine structure degenerates and as a result, eyesight and visual acuity continuously deteriorate.Zeaxanthin, along with lutein, is found in the yellow spot, Latin: macula, of the eye’s retina. These form the macular pigment that protects against harmful wavelengths of light as well as free radicals. Lutein and zeaxanthin filter blue light and that is why they appear yellow.Zeaxanthin is a natural plant substance.
