Description
Echinacea’s immune-enhancing properties are due to the large number of biologically active substances in its composition. These include essential oils, polysaccharides, resins, glycosides, saponins, organic acids, phytosterols, tannins, alkaloids, phenolic acids and polyenes. It has pronounced anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, antifungal, antiviral, antiallergic and antirheumatic properties. When used in skin care, it helps to preserve the normal moisture balance of the skin and protect it from pathogens; it enhances the skin’s immune properties and increases the formation of collagen, elastin and protein fibers, which make up the skin’s protective "armor".
