Description
Black currant (Ribes nigrum) — black currant berries contain vitamin C and provitamin A, organic acids (citric and apple), various sugars (mainly glucose and fructose) ,glycosides and flavonoids, pectins, tannins, anthocyanins (cyanidin, delphinidin) and nitrogenous substances. Mineral composition of berries (mg/%): sodium R — 32, potassium R 372, calcium R 36, magnesium R 35, phosphorus R 33, ferrum R 1,3. Leaves are rich in ascorbic acid, carotene, phytoncides, essential oils. Black currant has a diaphoretic, diuretic and constipating effect. Blackcurrant leaves, buds and fruit have a disinfectant effected associated with essential oils.
Usage description
Blackcurrant berries have sudorific, diuretic and binding properties.
