Description
Bilberry (vaccinium myrtillus L.) fruits contain tannins of pyrocatechol group (7-5%), sugar (5-20%), anthocyanins, pectic substances, organic acids, glycoside of mirtilin, carotenoids, bioflavonoids. Bilberry small fruits have astringent, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effects. Infusion is used for acute and chronic digestive problems. In folk medicine, bilberry fruits are used as a general tonic agent normalizing salt metabolism, as an urinary and choleretic, hemostyptic agent, for visual acuity reduction.

It has astringent antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect.
