Echinacea’s immune-enhancing properties are due to the large number of biologically active substances in its composition. These include essential oils, polysaccharides, resins, glycosides, saponins, organic acids, phytosterols, tannins, alkaloids, phenolic acids and polyenes. It has pronounced anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, antifungal, antiviral, antiallergic and antirheumatic properties.
